Tips & strategy

  • Insiders know the #1 answer — if someone sounds too confident, that is suspicious
  • As an Insider, do not answer too perfectly. Show a little uncertainty.
  • Ask follow-up questions to pressure players — liars struggle to elaborate
  • A player who changes their answer after hearing others is worth watching

Frequently asked questions

How is Bluffers different from Imposter?

In Imposter the hidden players have different information about a word. In Bluffers the hidden Insiders have extra knowledge: they secretly know the most popular answer to the question everyone is discussing.

How many players can play Bluffers?

3 to 15 players. The number of Insiders scales with the group: one for small groups, up to three in rooms of 10 or more.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Bluffers runs entirely in the browser. One player creates a room, shares the code, and everyone joins from their own phone.

What kind of questions does Bluffers use?

Everyday survey-style questions, like what people do first in the morning or what they always forget to pack. Everyone can answer naturally, which is exactly what makes the Insiders hard to spot.

Can the Insiders lie about their answer?

Insiders can answer however they like. Their challenge is answering naturally enough that nobody suspects they already knew the top answer before the round started.
